Is Coffee Good For You?


In Canada, it is so common to see everybody's holding a cup of coffee in their hands. The prof brought a cup of coffee before lecturing, students bought coffee before coming to the class till I realized that they didn't have much choices of hot drinks over here. Like in Malaysia, they have teh tarik, nescafe, horlicks, milo and a lot more. But here the hot drinks that are available usually are hot chocolate and coffee-based drinks. Either French vanilla, vanilla bean latte, cappuccino, English toffee and a lot more till I feel like 'grrrrrrrrr' i don't want any caffeine in my body anymore..STOPPPPP! Cold weather usually is the major factor I really need hot drink each time. So, I have no choice! Choosing hot chocolate will make me sleep peacefully in the class, so I just left with coffee as my only choice. Day after day, I get used to drink coffee. Let's see what benefits can coffee brings to our bodies:

  • Become more alert and energetic suddenly
  • When I was having headache, i didn't take any painkillers. Instead, I drank coffee and my headache just went away!
  • promotes digestion
  • decrease depression
  • improves performance
  • cancer preventive (antioxidants)
  • reducing risk of diabetes
  • good for heart and liver
  • reducing risk of asthma
  • cavity protection ( anti-bacterial and anti-adhesive compounds within coffee)

In fact, kopi adalah antara minuman Nabi Muhammad saw dahulu. Thus, coffee is good for health if consume in correct amount such as 2-4 cups per day. Remember, don't overdose sudah ye! Nanti jadi kesan lain pulak :P
