McMaster university is regretful to announce plans to postponed its currently scheduled final exams for the fall/winter session of 2009-2010.
Due to current arise in tension between the CUPE 3906, the teaching assistants and instructional assistants union, university has been forced to take actions.
"It is so unfortunate for us to have to take such drastic actions," said Peter George, the president of the University. "We will do our best to accommodate students with prior travel arrangements or living arrangements."
University plans to move all of its schedules final exams for April to May.
McMaster has taken several steps to contain the situation, however an extended strike seems to be unavoidable.
While some exams still will remain scheduled for April, exams for subjects in the faculty of sciences, the faculty of social sciences, Degroote school of Business and the faculty of engineering will be moved to May. The last day of lectures in session still remain April 7th as originally scheduled, however the university is yet to comment on the time gap between then and the exams.
