My Favourite 'Ayam Masak Madu'

Holiday seasons are always be awaited by everyone and now the summer break already started.Yeayyy! :D Staying at home sometimes do make me feel bored. Nak kluar jalan2 terasa malas sebab sure kene kluar duit lagi. So I decided to try new recipe whenever I wanted to eat. Time utk mengasah bakat memasak pulak..hehe. Sebelum ni, everytime balik Malaysia my mum sure akan bekalkan perencah2 masakan segera..So that kalau busy and x sempat nk masak, just guna perencah..Senang and Sedap!! ;) But then perencah semua finally dah habis sebab I've been using it for a year..So sure la dah habis kan. Perencah yang I like the most was 'Ayam Masak Madu'. Then I thought of trying to cook Ayam Masak Madu by myself. Kali ni manual cooking, no more perencah2. So I want to share with you guys the recipe that I tried and it turned out realllyyyyyy good! Plus the recipe was not that hard though. Here you go:

Ingredients:

- Chicken thighs/ drumsticks
- 1 tsp tumeric powder (serbuk kunyit)
-1-2 tsp curry powder
- 3/4 tsp salt
- Water (Just a little)
- Cooking oil

Mix all the first four ingredients in a bowl while heating the cooking oil in the pan. Coated the chicken thighs with the mixture in the bowl. Fry the coated chicken in the heated cooking oil.

- 3 cloves garlic
- A bit of ginger
- 1/2 tsp curry powder
- 1 tsp chilli paste ( chilli powder works too)
- 3 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 3 tablespoon honey
- water
- Onion
- 1 lime, juiced (optional)

Method:

1)  Pound or grate the garlic, ginger and onion. Saute the paste in the 2-3 tablespoons of oil left behind in the wok or pan until fragrant.
2) Add tomato sauce, chili paste, curry powder and honey and stir to combine. Add water to loosen up the mixture. Add salt to taste.
3) Add the deep fried chicken pieces and stir to mix so that the chicken pieces get well coated with the sauce. 4) Simmer for about 5-10 minutes until  the chicken pieces have absorbed some of the sauce. Add the lime juice (optional). You may also add a little more water if it gets a little dry.

Happy trying! =)
